The winter winds blowing across Lake Michigan can chill the hardiest traveler, but when the winds ease and the sun breaks forth, the limestone bluffs at Cave Point come alive with shimmering color and icy decorations. The thudding surf creates deep caves at water's level, allowing the ice to grow like blue-white vines over the cave entrances. The rusty siena of the eastern cedars contrasts in color and texture with the pristine snow and the blue-green shallows, giving us a perfect winter fantasy.
